WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Brand Marketing at Nike leads the charge in creating culturally relevant campaigns that build strong consumer connections. As part of the Nike Sportswear (NSW) Brand Marketing team in Japan, this role partners closely with cross‑functional teams across Retail, Digital, Media, Communications, and Brand Creative, locally and across APLA and Global, to deliver impactful brand work.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for a strategic and creative brand marketer with a strong understanding of Japanese consumers, the sportswear industry, and the cultural landscape. The ideal candidate brings deep insight into Japanese youth and how they connect with brands, content, creators, and culture across both digital and physical environments.
This person is curious, collaborative, and comfortable working across functions. They bring hands‑on marketing experience, strong storytelling instincts, and the ability to translate consumer and community insight into meaningful brand action. They are proactive and organized, able to manage multiple priorities while contributing ideas that push work forward. This role is well‑suited for someone who values craft, thrives in partnership, and is motivated by creating brand impact through culture and community.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in consumer marketing, retail store with direct consumer facing-experience, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- Strong understanding of Japanese youth and multidimensional consumer and cultural insight (fashion, entertainment, music, art, etc.).
- Proven communication and relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external agency partners.
- Positive, proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a team‑first approach.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both Japanese and English (Japanese: Fluent, English: Business proficiency).
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will deliver consumer and community insights and support product seeding plans that inform marketing strategies and activations. Your work helps build brand relevance, distinction, and long‑term brand love for Nike Sportswear in Japan.
- Build authentic connections between Nike Sportswear and youth through culturally grounded insights and ideas.
- Identify key moments, communities, creators, and digital and physical partners that shape consumer lifestyles.
- Support and activate community connections by coordinating product and operational needs.
- Contribute to strategic brand plans and support the execution of events and activations.
- Brief internal teams and external agency partners and support delivery of clear reporting and campaign insights.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Integrated Media, Digital, Retail Marketing, Communications, Energy Marketing) to roll out campaigns across channels.
- Organize, track, and deliver product requirements for key moments, including product seeding.
