Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities

Production Operations Management (6 Areas with 6 Supervisors)

Supervisory Leadership

  • Directly manage and lead six production area supervisors (one supervisor per production area).
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards for all supervisors. Conduct regular check-ins with each supervisor to review area performance and address concerns Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to build supervisor capabilities.
  • Evaluate supervisor performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and standards across all areas

Production Oversight & Coordination

  • Monitor overall production performance, schedules, and output across all six areas.
  • Review area-specific metrics and KPIs reported by each supervisor.
  • Balance workload and resources across production areas to optimize efficiency
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between production areas when needed.
  • Ensure seamless handoffs between day and night shift management through detailed reporting Make strategic decisions regarding production priorities and resource allocation.

Problem Resolution & Decision Making

  • Serve as final decision authority for production-related issues during night shift.
  • Address complex operational challenges that supervisors escalate.
  • Remove barriers preventing supervisors from achieving their production goals.
  • Authorize production line stops, quality holds, or schedule adjustments when necessary.
  • Make real-time decisions to maintain production flow and meet customer commitments.

Escalation Support Functions(Technician/Maintenance Escalation Support)

  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical or equipment issues that supervisors cannot resolve.
  • Coordinate emergency maintenance responses and critical equipment repairs.
  • Prioritize competing maintenance requests across multiple production areas.
  • Make decisions on equipment run/repair priorities based on production impact.
  • Approve overtime or call-in of additional maintenance resources when needed.
  • Interface with maintenance leadership on major equipment failures or chronic issues
  • Ensure proper documentation of escalated technical issues for day shift follow-up

Materials Escalation Support

  • Address material shortage or supply issues escalated by production supervisors.
  • Coordinate emergency material procurement or transfers between areas.
  • Make decisions on production sequencing or line changes due to material constraint.
  • Resolve material quality or specification discrepancies affecting production.
  • Approve expedited material requests or alternative material usage when appropriate.
  • Communicate critical material issues to materials management and procurement teams.
  • Ensure proper inventory management practices are followed across all areas.

Quality Escalation Support

  • Review and approve quality holds or non-conformance decisions escalated by supervisors.
  • Make disposition decisions on out-of-specification product or materials.
  • Coordinate with quality technicians on complex quality investigations during shift
  • Authorize rework, scrap, or use-as-is decisions within delegated authority limits.
  • Escalate major quality incidents to quality management and senior leadership.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts for quality problems occurring on night shift.
  • Ensure customer quality requirements and specifications are maintained.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 3 years of operations experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing supervisors or team leads.
  • Strong operational and production management knowledge Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure with limited information.
  • Technical understanding of production equipment, processes, and quality systems.
  • Conflict resolution and people management skills Proficiency with production management systems, ERP, and data analysis tools.

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois)

$84,000.00 USD - $115,500.00 USD Annual
