Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Facilities Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager the Facilities Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, and supporting the implementation of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure that meet operational, safety, and technical standards. This role evaluates feasibility, proposes improvements, supervises on-site activities, and ensures alignment between client requirements, suppliers, and internal facilities teams. The position has no direct reports and requires strong communication, technical expertise, and project management skills.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Researches facility products, equipment specifications, and performance requirements to define designs compatible with existing manufacturing or processing capabilities.
  • Researches engineering proposals, process requirements, and technical data related to machinery, systems, and industrial facility equipment.
  • Defines feasibility for new equipment or facility modifications considering cost, space, time constraints, corporate planning, and technical factors.
  • Provides technical guidance on manufacturing/processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages or limitations that impact long-term plant engineering strategies.
  • Compiles and analyzes research data to establish performance standards for new or modified equipment.
  • Studies engineering and technical publications to stay current with industry changes and technological developments.
  • Uses computer‑assisted engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks and validate engineering documentation.
  • Provides project management and administrative control of projects (PM).
  • Participates in client calls to review scope, identify gaps, align requirements, and coordinate activities across different plant locations (north, south, technology areas, etc.).
  • Supports general facilities operations including electromechanical systems, fire protection systems, electrical distribution, HVAC systems, civil works, and infrastructure upgrades.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS as a civil engineer, or similar.
  • Knowledge in Electromechanical systems, Fire protection systems, Electrical systems, General facilities operations.
  • Project administration experience.
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD – reviewing and validating engineering information
  • Experience supervising construction projects.
  • Intermediate English skills.
  • Experience with corrective and preventive actions & risk management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Availability to attend all the different Flex Jalisco locations.
