As Netflix grows globally, we continue to look for the best and brightest talent to scale with our growth. We are looking for an Accountant to join our Operations Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP, proven experience scaling processes and the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy in compliance with US GAAP

• Understand end-to-end workflows and proactively identify gaps and opportunities for process improvement in the areas of fixed assets and intercompany accounting.

• Support the monthly financial close, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of financial results for management reporting

• Partner with Financial Applications and Finance Engineering teams to enhance systems, automate workflows, and improve data quality

• Develop strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders, including FP&A, Project Controls, FPO, Tax, Fin Tech, and other business partners

• Represent Operations Accounting in cross-functional initiatives and system implementations

• Perform ad hoc analyses and support new initiatives aligned with organizational priorities

• Solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and private industry experience; technology or media industry experience strongly preferred

• Experience with multi-currency and intercompany accounting

• Experience in fixed asset accounting, including ASC 360

• Experience partnering with finance systems, engineering, or internal product teams to improve reporting and processes

• Advanced proficiency in Excel; Google Sheets experience a plus

• Experience with large, cloud-based ERP systems; Workday experience preferred

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $140,000.00 - $210,000.00.
