The Role

As a Senior Game Designer, you will help create high-quality games that a broad audience of gamers and casual players can play and love. In this role, you will work closely with your team to deliver best-in-class gameplay experiences for the largest possible audience of potential players: Netflix members.

In this role, you will help figure out which game ideas are worth pursuing, ensuring the games are both fun and easy for anyone to start, but also deep enough for them to stay interesting. You'll work on creating unique gaming experiences that players can't find anywhere else, with a focus on genres like single-player puzzle games, as well as word and deduction games.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating closely with the Game Lead, and members of Art, Engineering, UX, Product Management, consumer insights, and others through all stages of development from concepting through production and Live Ops.

• Leading and mentoring fellow designers and team members, drawing on your expertise to inspire, coach, and support their needs and decisions.

• Designing, planning, and implementing game mechanics, systems, and content.

• Fine-tuning features using live game metrics and user experience testing.

• Developing comprehensive design documentation covering gameplay mechanics, guidelines, game loops, and player progression.

• Creating concepts and prototypes, actively participating in planning and analyzing tests.

Skills and Experience:

• Focus on iterative development and product performance improvement, proven through direct past experience with shipped and ongoing game releases.

• Experience in live game operations is valuable, both in conceiving how live operations are applied to existing games and in designing games to facilitate the natural addition of live operations after launch.

• Experience building Logic and deduction puzzles - creating and editing content as well as concepting and developing new puzzle systems.

• Strong passion for casual, wide-appeal puzzle games

• Understanding player motivations and audience profiles, and the ability to align these with mechanics and systems.

• Experience working with external partners and curating design work

• Strong and proactive communication, organization, and collaboration skills
