The role

The Production Finance Associate is a key operational partner who supports Managers and cross-functional teams in the financial execution of productions. They are responsible for tactical management, basic financial analysis, and operational coordination, ensuring consistency, control, and compliance across all production processes. They operate with a high degree of autonomy in operational tasks, demonstrating initiative, curiosity, and problem-solving ability, aligned with the team's priorities and Netflix's principles.

Core Responsibilities:

• Effectively coordinate with external production companies, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure the proper financial execution of productions.

• Provide close follow-up on budgets, cost reports, and variance analyses, generating clear and actionable commentary throughout the full project lifecycle.

• Process and monitor funding, ensuring accurate execution and recording.

• Manage and update information in internal financial systems and production tools.

• Prepare key financial materials, such as budget top sheets, for approval.

• Support the onboarding of external accounting teams and ensure alignment with Netflix best practices.

• Conduct budget versus actual comparative analyses and identify risks or opportunities in a timely manner.

• Act as an operational point of contact for internal teams such as AP, Accounting, Tax, and others.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, operational efficiency efforts, and the adoption of new tools.

Analytics, Technical Skills & Ways of Working

• Strong foundation in accounting, finance, and production processes, with an active interest in continuing to strengthen this knowledge.

• Ability to execute basic financial analysis with minimal supervision, including budget versus actuals, variance analysis, and cost tracking.

• Required experience with:

• Movie Magic Budgeting (MMB)

• PSL or other production management systems

• Knowledge of:

• Tax processes and regulatory compliance in Mexico

• International accounting processes

• Ability to work with data analysis and automation tools:

• Google Sheets at an intermediate to advanced level, including formulas, data structuring, and validations

• Experience with Apps Script or workflow automation

• Active adoption of technology:

• Use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or others for analysis, automation, documentation, and efficiency improvement

• Ability to identify opportunities where technology can optimize operational processes

• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

Communication & Collaboration:

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Clear, structured, and direct communication, tailored to the context and audience.

• Advanced English, with the ability to communicate independently with global teams, both written and verbal.

• Ability to operate both collaboratively and autonomously, with a high level of organization.

Profile & Experience:

• Experience in Production Finance, Production Accounting, or the audiovisual industry.

• Comfort working in high-demand operational environments with a large volume of information.

• Highly analytical profile, with intellectual curiosity and a strong results-oriented mindset.

• Ability to prioritize and execute effectively in dynamic, fast-changing environments.

• Comfortable giving and receiving direct, ongoing feedback.
