At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
As we continue on our mission to entertain the world, games present a new frontier on this quest, and we have an incredible opportunity to delight our members with party games for users of all ages.
We are seeking a mixed-methods Senior Researcher to join the Games research team at Netflix. This person will focus on guiding the content and product strategy for our Party Games vertical. At its core, this role will design and execute foundational research (qualitative and quantitative), surfacing consumer insights to inform various aspects of game development, product UX, market positioning, and more. This role may also have the opportunity to deliver insights across other areas of the business, such as our general product experience. And with the recent launch of some of our biggest party games to date, like Boggle Party and Pictionary, there’s never been a more exciting time to join the team!
In this role, you will:
Explore gaming worldwide, uncovering opportunities for Netflix to innovate and differentiate within the category.
Apply your research expertise to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of players of all ages, including children and their parents.
Understand player motivations and how to create fulfilling multiplayer experiences within the realm of party games.
Provide insights support for both Games Studio (content strategy, IP analysis & integration, transmedia) and Games Product needs (product UX research, information architecture, trust and safety, etc.)
Partner closely with Games senior leadership and pertinent partner teams (Games Studio (content), Games Finance & Strategy, Product Design, Product Management, Data Science and Engineering, etc.)
Drive results into impact, synthesizing and communicating insights throughout the organization (including executive leadership) with clear, compelling deliverables.
Bring vision to a developing and rapidly evolving space, identifying the root question(s) to solve for and how to unearth insights that will inform key business decisions.
What we’re looking for:
6+ years of hands-on experience conducting primary research in games, entertainment, or tech.
Preferred: Experience supporting 0-to-1 product development with insights / UX research
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research with audiences of all ages.
Preferred: Experience in product UX research, including working with interactive prototypes, concepts, wireframes, etc.
University Degree in Social Sciences preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Proficient in presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience socializing insights at all levels of an organization, including executive leadership.
