Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix, we are shaping the future of entertainment by bringing top-quality global content to members in countries around the world. In building and scaling our business in EMEA, we have established partnerships with mobile and cable networks and smart TV manufacturers that help us deliver our service in a consumer-friendly way, such as enabling access to Netflix on a wide range of devices or allowing payment through a mobile bill. These partnerships have been essential in accelerating Netflix’s expansion, and as they grow, so does our team of finance experts who support them.

Our Finance team is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support our Business Development team in EMEA in scaling our partnerships in-region. This is a highly cross-functional role that will collaborate not only with Business Development but also with Legal, FP&A, Treasury, Partner Payments, and Tax teams in EMEA and the US.

Responsibilities

  • Manage finance operations associated with partner agreements, including vendor set up, explaining payment flows, invoicing, timely payment collection, reconciliation of data, and addressing billing and payment questions and issues in the region.

  • Perform detailed reviews of partnership deals and collaborate with the corporate accounting team to ensure proper treatment under both US GAAP and local GAAP (IFRS).

  • Perform accounting-related functions related to payments, adjustments, and reviews.

  • Work closely with Business Development, Legal, Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Partner Payments teams across EMEA to understand partnership strategies and deal structures.

  • Advise Business Development and Legal partners on negotiation strategy for finance-related terms in partnership deals.

  • Identify and drive operational process improvements.

Skills & Attributes

  • Able to work and problem-solve independently and take ownership of work.

  • Able to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

  • Proactive in identifying issues and opportunities, and reliable in following through on commitments.

  • Able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Curious and improvement-oriented, willing to ask questions, challenge existing processes, and contribute to making them better.

  • Comfortable working in an evolving environment and adapting to change.

  • Organised, detail-oriented, and eager to learn; focused on building expertise in the areas they support.

  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, including contributing ideas to support team success and efficiency.

  • Able to collaborate with colleagues in our US and international offices across multiple time zones, with clear expectations set around working hours.

Education & Experience

  • 6 or more years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance.

  • Experience in the technology or entertainment industry is beneficial but not required.

  • Experience with Workday Financials or other cloud-based ERP systems is beneficial but not required.

  • Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Advanced Excel experience with the ability to work with large data sets.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in an additional EMEA language is beneficial where relevant to the role.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
