This role is based in our Amsterdam office and reports to the Content Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities

Ensure the financial integrity of the company’s content commitments, assets (capitalisation), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortisation).

Prepare and review monthly accounting entries, reconciliations, CFO metrics, and ad hoc analyses.

Manage and account for content license contracts in proprietary systems, understanding the full cost of each produced title and applying appropriate accounting guidance.

Analyse content agreements and transactions (e.g., licensing contracts, talent deals) to interpret contractual terms and apply accounting policies correctly.

Identify and drive process improvements, challenging existing workflows to enhance efficiency and standardisation across the team.

Communicate effectively and regularly to ensure alignment and consistency across the wider Content Accounting team.

Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with teams outside Content Accounting, including finance and content acquisition.

Contribute to solutions as Netflix expands its content portfolio and navigates related accounting and operational complexities.
Qualifications and Skills

Fundamentals of Accounting: 3+ years of relevant experience, supported by a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent practical experience.

Attention to Detail & Comfort with Data: Strong ability to work with spreadsheets and system data to reconcile accounts, solve problems, and handle large datasets (e.g., Excel pivot tables).

Enthusiasm for Learning & Systems: Interest in designing and improving accounting systems. Experience with contract review (revenue, leases, or other complex documents), data analysis, or problem-solving is a plus, with support provided to build content accounting expertise.

Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proven ability to ask probing questions, challenge the status quo, and implement process improvements.

Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve as a cross-functional business partner while navigating technical accounting guidance.

Collaborative Approach: Able to work effectively both independently and in a team, valuing and leveraging diverse perspectives.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in an evolving landscape of content, finance, and accounting projects.
