As the Data Platform charter grows, we are expanding our presence to Poland to further increase our impact. We are seeking Distributed Systems Engineers to help evolve and innovate our Product and Infrastructure. Team Spotlights

Data Platform Product Enhancement Team
This team is responsible for building strategic user-facing products for the Netflix Data Platform, serving a variety of business-critical needs. The immediate focus is on building and operating batch data connectors that support data movement across Netflix. These connectors will be integrated with our flagship product, Data Bridge, offering users a consolidated, managed data movement platform. In the future, this team will collaborate with other Data Platform product domains to enhance offerings in real-time connectors, search infrastructure for data discovery, product metrics instrumentation, and more.

Data Platform Infrastructure Tooling Team
This team delivers value by innovating in infrastructure and tooling to support strategic initiatives within the Data Platform. The team complements existing domain-specific infrastructure teams and partners closely with them on projects such as advancing testing infrastructure, developing reference applications, and implementing testing solutions. The team also works on bringing stateful systems onto the Netflix streamlined “paved path” for operational ease, developing tools for automated migrations, and establishing correctness and performance parity.

Data Platform Online Data Stores Team

This team will focus on taking end-to-end ownership of the internal data platform products, including ZooKeeper, one of the critical infrastructure products in our suite, ensuring its continued reliability, scalability and evolution. Over time, this team will expand its charter to more datastores, and to drive broader infrastructure initiatives. This expansion reinforces our mission to boost Netflix engineers’ productivity and innovation by providing a robust, efficient, and secure data platform, while fostering close collaboration between data platform teams to deliver greater organizational throughput and agility.

About you:

• 7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructure

• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or Scala, with a solid understanding of multi-threading and memory management

• Experience with the Spark platform is valuable

• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining impactful systems

• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems

• You have developed your skills through a variety of educational or professional experiences in computer science, engineering, or a related field
