Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are hiring Software Engineers to be involved in development & design of the features for Net App’s flagship storage operating system ONTAP.
ONTAP is a feature rich stack with its rich data management capabilities that has tremendous value to our customers and are used in mission critical applications across the world. You will work as part of a team responsible for the development, testing and debugging of distributed software that drives Net App cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premises solutions.
As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development.  This is an entry-level technical position that requires an individual to be systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, able to work in a small and large cross-functional teams, willing to learn and driven to produce results.

Job Requirements

• Familiarity with design and development of system software
• Hands on Experience working with python for test automation or development.
• Experience across unit, automation and regression Testing
• Ability to Debug failures, analyze logs and triage infrastructure/configuration problems• Knowledge in using AI tools.
• C/C++ Programming experience is a plus
• Storage Domain experience is a plus
• Should have strong conceptual understanding of OS internals
• Strong algorithms, data structures and multi-threaded programming expertise are required
• Expected to have sound software engineering practices and a passion for quality
• Must have a proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Strong communication skills are essential, both written and oral, targeted at a wide variety of internal and external audiences
• Expected and assumed: independence, drive, motivation, willingness to go above and beyond, flexibility, and cooperative spirit

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
