About the role

Job Summary

The SOX Compliance Analyst (IC2) is an individual contributor responsible for supporting SOX compliance activities, IT general controls (ITGC) testing, and audit processes. The role applies established policies, procedures, and audit methodologies to execute assigned tasks with moderate complexity while building professional expertise in IT audit and compliance.

This position works under general guidance, exercises judgment within defined frameworks, and collaborates primarily within the immediate team and key stakeholders to support compliance objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Execute SOX ITGC testing procedures to evaluate design and operating effectiveness of controls
  • Perform audit steps based on established test plans and document results in compliance with internal standards
  • Support walkthroughs and control documentation updates for financial systems and IT processes
  • Assist in identifying control gaps and documenting audit findings
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Business teams) to obtain audit evidence and clarify control processes
  • Support coordination with external auditors by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Build productive working relationships within the immediate team and cross-functional partners
  • Prepare working papers and audit documentation aligned with defined procedures
  • Track audit observations and remediation status
  • Contribute to audit reports and summaries for review by senior team members
  • Develop knowledge of SOX compliance, IT audit methodologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to testing or documentation practices
  • Participate in internal audit initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in IT audit, SOX compliance, or internal audit.
