Organization Overview:

Net App storage systems hold 70 Exabytes of enterprise data. The Data Intelligence and AI Business Unit builds vision is to bring AI to data. We build platforms and services that enable enterprises to operationalize this data and AI at scale within the compliance boundaries of data. AIDE (AI Data Engine) is a core data platform product within the BU, focused on making enterprise data ready for AI workloads through scalable data pipelines and distributed systems that support modern machine learning and inference use cases.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the AIDE team. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest or background in machine learning systems, AI inference, distributed systems, and data engineering, with hands-on development in Go. The intern will work closely with senior engineers on production-oriented components of the AI Data Engine.

Project Summary:

The intern will work on implementing adaptive indexing algorithms that learn from query patterns to optimize data access and make enterprise data inference-ready. The project will focus on designing and building Go-based, distributed indexing and query components that improve performance, scalability, and efficiency for AI inference workloads.

Job Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data engineering, or ML systems
• Hands-on programming experience in Go
• Familiarity with document databases and gRPC-based microservices
• Exposure to query optimization, indexing techniques, or AI inference pipelines is a plus
