NBS Senior Tax Specialist:
Job Purpose
The NBS Senior Tax Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality tax compliance, reporting, and advisory support across multiple markets within the Nestlé Business Services (NBS) framework. The role ensures full compliance with local and international tax regulations while driving process standardization, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities1. Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review indirect tax returns (VAT, WHT, other local taxes) for assigned markets to ensure timely and accurate filing
- Prepare, review, and reconcile tax calculations, tax accounts, and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, group tax policies, and internal controls.
2. Advisory & Business Support
- Provide tax support and guidance to Finance, R2R, O2C, S2P, and business stakeholders.
- Analyze transactional tax issues and propose compliant and efficient solutions.
- Support tax audits, assessments, and tax authority queries, including preparation of documentation and responses.
- Identify and communicate tax risks and opportunities proactively.
3. Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Drive standardization and simplification of tax processes within NBS processes.
- Contribute to SOP creation, updates, and documentation.
- Support digitalization initiatives (e.g., DRC, e-invoicing, SAF-T, tax automation tools)
- Actively participate in transition projects, migrations, and new scope onboarding.
4. Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full adherence to internal control frameworks .
- Perform control checks, reconciliations, and remediation actions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
5. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Act as a key contact point for markets, Group Tax, and external advisors.
- Coach and support junior tax specialists; act as a subject-matter expert.
- Promote a culture of compliance, quality, and continuous learning within the team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time and accurate tax filings (zero late submissions).
- Audit findings and remediation effectiveness.
- Quality of tax reconciliations and documentation.
- Stakeholder satisfaction and responsiveness.
- Contribution to process improvements and standardization.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably Big 4,shared services, Or multinational environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in indirect taxes (VAT/WHT); exposure to MENA tax regimes is a plus.
- Experience working with SAP (FI, R2R processes) and tax-related reports is PL.
- Proven experience in audits, compliance reviews, and stakeholder management
