X-Ray Technologist--Mount Sinai Doctors Medical Group

The Diagnostic Specialist for the offsite practice performs radiologic procedures, assists in the coordination of patient flow, ensures supplies are available, responsible for daily maintenance of equipment and organization of X-ray and sonography equipment.

1 year minimum of experience taking radiographs is preferred

1.Performs diagnostic radiologic services by operating imaging equipment, operating other equipment/devices as appropriate, positioning patients, immobilizing patients as necessary, calculating exposure factors, practicing radiation protection, evaluating radiographs for technical quality, assuming care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures, assisting physicians with imaging procedures.

2.Maintains patients’ X-ray or sonography imaging and copying as requested.

3.Performs clerical duties related to administrative activities of clinical imaging area.

4.Assumes full responsibility for assigned area.

5.Assumes responsibility for imaging portion of quality assurance and complies with all federal and state regulations and maintains daily equipment maintenance records.

6.May assist in the scheduling of vacation time and appropriate coverage of area so clinical activity is not compromised.

7.Pursues on-going continuing education opportunities.

8.Other relevant duties as assigned.
