A&E Energy Software Solutions:

Job Description:

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.

Key Responsibilities (Strategic & Architectural Leadership)

  • System Architecture: Define and govern the end-to-end architecture, design patterns, and technology stack for new and existing Windows (desktop) and Web applications, ensuring high reliability, performance, and security.

  • Design & Standards: Establish coding standards, review criteria, and architectural best practices across the organization, focusing on maintainability, testability, and scalability.

  • Technical Roadmapping: Drive technology evaluations and selection (e.g., UI frameworks, backend services, database solutions) to align technical strategy with long-term business goals.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with product managers, UX designers, and senior engineers to translate complex business requirements into clear, executable technical designs and development milestones.

  • Mentorship & Governance: Actively mentor senior and staff engineers, providing hands-on technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring architectural decisions are consistently implemented across all teams.

  • Deployment Strategy: Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies for both desktop installers and cloud-hosted web services.

Basic Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive software development experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a dedicated Software Architect or Principal Engineering role.

  • Windows Expertise: Deep, verifiable expertise in designing and building high-performance Windows desktop applications using C# and the .NET Framework or .NET Core. Proficiency with Windows UI technologies (e.g., WPF, UWP).

  • Web Expertise: Extensive experience designing and architecting modern web application stacks, including:

  • Front-end: Modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).

  • Back-end: RESTful API design, microservices, and experience with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, ASP.NET Core).

  • Databases: Expert knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database architecture, optimization, and data migration strategies.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas will be considered a significant plus:

  • Cloud: Professional experience architecting and deploying applications on major Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Networking: Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, particularly Ethernet connectivity and diagnostics.

  • Embedded/OS Knowledge: Experience with embedded systems, including familiarity with Linux environments or build systems like Yocto.

  • DevOps: Advanced proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
