Department Overview

The Next-Generation IoT and Connectivity Solutions team is responsible for designing,
validating, and implementing cutting-edge communication ecosystems that keep first responders
and critical enterprises connected. We bridge the gap between physical hardware and cloud
analytics, ensuring seamless data flow under the most demanding real-world conditions

Job Description:

As an IoT Student Tester at Motorola Solutions, you will be an integral part of our dynamic
Quality Assurance and Validation team. In this role, you will help test, break, and improve
complex IoT ecosystems that integrate smart sensors, mission-critical devices, and platforms.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced testing
methodologies, hardware-software integration, and automation tools, all while balancing your

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge in programming languages like Python (for automation, scripting, and data
    analysis) and C++ (for understanding embedded systems or firmware).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of being a reliable,
    communicative team member.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and IoT protocols (MQTT,
  • HTTP).
  • Experience working in Linux environments and comfort operating command-line
    interfaces.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a natural curiosity for diagnosing hardware-to-software
    communication bugs.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic
  • Engineering, Software Engineering.
  • Must have at least 2 to 3 years remaining until graduation.
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours (or 2.5 days) per week, with flexibility during university
    exam periods.
