Motorola Solutions creates a comprehensive suite of community-facing public safety and enterprise applications. Our portfolio includes personal safety apps, crisis communication software, incident management systems, and emergency notification platforms. We serve diverse customers—from educational institutions and healthcare facilities to corporate enterprises and law enforcement agencies—providing them with the tools they need to respond effectively in critical situations.

About the Role

Join Motorola Solutions as a Mid-Senior Software Engineer and contribute to platforms that make a real difference in public safety. You'll work with a collaborative team of approximately 5 engineers building, testing, and maintaining systems that help schools, hospitals, corporates, police forces, and entire states keep their communities safe and informed.

This is a remote-first position based in Brazil, with occasional travel to São Paulo for team events. You'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to mission-critical systems used by customers worldwide.

Tech Stack

You'll work with a modern, cloud-native technology stack:

Backend:

  • TypeScript (compiled to JavaScript) running on NodeJS
  • Serverless architecture using AWS Lambda
  • AWS services: DynamoDB, Open Search, SQS, S3

Frontend:

  • Flexible framework approach: Angular, React, or vanilla JavaScript
  • Micro-frontends and web components architecture
  • Building embeddable code snippets and modular, reusable components

Development Practices:

  • AI-assisted development with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
  • Serverless-first architecture
  • Cloud-native deployment patterns on AWS
  • Modern testing and quality practices

What You'll Work On

  • Design and build features for platforms used internally and by external customers
  • Develop both backend services and frontend components across our tech stack
  • Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and related services
  • Create micro-frontends and embeddable web components
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to increase productivity and code quality
  • Collaborate closely with a small, high-performing team
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
  • Ensure code quality through testing and peer review

Skills & Experience

We're looking for engineers who are proficient in our tech stack, or have equivalent experience that demonstrates they can get up to speed quickly. You should be:

  • Full-stack capable: Comfortable working across backend and frontend technologies
  • Cloud-native minded: Experienced with serverless architectures and modern cloud platforms
  • Quality focused: Strong advocate for testing, code review, and maintainable code
  • Adaptable: Quick to learn new technologies and frameworks when needed
  • Modern in approach: Embracing AI-assisted development and cutting-edge tooling
  • Collaborative: Effective communicator who thrives in small team environments
  • Impact driven: Motivated by building systems that help keep people safe
  • Nice to have: Experience with mapping libraries (Leaflet, Map Box, ArcGIS) or GIS concepts, but strong JavaScript/JSON skills are more important

Team & Culture

You'll join a small, collaborative team of approximately 5 engineers working together on shared goals. The team values:

  • Autonomy: Trust and independence to make technical decisions
  • Innovation: Exploring modern technologies and development practices
  • Impact: Understanding that your work directly helps communities stay safe
  • Flexibility: Remote-first culture with flexible work arrangements
  • Collaboration: Close teamwork and knowledge sharing
  • Growth: Continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies

Benefits & Perks

  • Remote-first: Work from anywhere in Brazil
  • Modern tooling: Access to the latest AI-assisted development tools
  • Impactful work: Build systems that make a real difference in public safety
  • Small team environment: Close collaboration with direct impact on technical decisions
  • Occasional travel: Team gatherings in São Paulo for larger events

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering (full-stack or backend-focused)
  • AND 3+ years with TypeScript or JavaScript in production environments
  • AND 3+ years with NodeJS for backend development
  • AND 2+ years with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, or equivalent experience with Azure/GCP demonstrating transferable serverless and cloud-native skills)
  • AND 2+ years with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, or similar)
