Department Overview

Design & Develop batteries, chargers & power supply for highly-sophisticated two way communication products used in professional & mission critical markets of the commercial, government & industrial segments

Job Description:

  • Developing new product concept designs that meet customer requirements and safety guidelines using 2D and 3D software.

  • Supporting internal design reviews with Electrical Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Safety teams, as well as participating in supplier reviews.

  • Developing systems and procedures for the fabrication and testing of lithium-ion batteries, power supplies, and chargers.

  • Generating 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards.

  • Performing mechanical tolerance analysis and DFMEA.

  • Supporting prototype and pilot builds, including investigating materials and production processes.

  • Supporting thermal and structural testing by developing setups, writing procedures, and analyzing results.

  • Clarifying and solving design issues.

  • Releasing mechanical prints and parts qualification reports.

  • Setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM).

  • Compiling information for user manuals and instruction sheets.

  • Maintaining awareness of design trends in energy products.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 8–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, from concept through production release, with a focus on DFM.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawings (specifically Pro/E Creo); knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is required.

  • Basic understanding of lithium-ion battery, power supply, and charger design and safety.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of material properties for sheet metal and plastics.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for technical audiences.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., plastic injection molding, metal stamping, welding, and PCBA assembly) and FEA structural/thermal analysis is a plus.
