Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.
Department Overview
CRFS, a Motorola Solutions company, is a global pioneer in advanced radio frequency (RF) technology, specializing in cutting-edge spectrum monitoring, geolocation, and electronic warfare solutions. Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, we design and build high-performance hardware and software—such as our industry-leading RFeye ecosystem—that empowers military forces, national security agencies, and spectrum regulators to detect, analyze, and exploit RF signals in the world's most complex environments. When you join our team, you’re directly contributing to the technologies that ensure spectrum dominance, protect critical infrastructure, and safeguard global communications.
This role is the second-in-command within Operations. You'll hold together the support functions that enable Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to perform at their best. You won't be managing those teams directly, but you'll need to understand how they work and where the friction points are.
The role spans a genuinely broad territory: Quality (acting as Quality Manager), EHS, Facilities and PPM, Logistics, ERP/order administration, and FSC clearance. You'll line-manage a small team directly, with scope to take on additional functions over time.
Job Description:
People leadership (this is the priority)
-
Set clear goals and hold people to them — fairly and consistently
-
Run regular 1:1s; address underperformance early, before it compounds
-
Build reliable routines: stand-ups, safety walks, weekly reviews where useful
Quality & EHS
-
Own and maintain the QMS; keep ISO 9001 compliance current
-
Run NCR and corrective action processes with genuine ownership and deadlines
-
Act as the responsible manager for site health and safety
-
Maintain risk assessments, SSOWs, training records and environmental monitoring
Facilities & PPM
-
Set up and run the planned preventative maintenance programme
-
Manage contractors; keep the site safe, tidy, and compliant
Logistics oversight
-
Line-manage the Logistics Manager; oversee shipping, documentation, and on-time delivery
-
Track OTIF and cost performance; resolve cross-functional issues with Supply Chain
Order administration & ERP
-
Oversee order acknowledgements, lead times, and invoicing accuracy via the Operations Coordinator
-
Maintain ERP master data integrity (BOMs, routings, parts)
FSC clearance
- Lead the FSC programme: documentation, controls, and ongoing upkeep
Basic Requirements:
Essential:
-
Strong people manager — you set expectations, have difficult conversations, and develop individuals
-
Operational breadth across at least two or three of: Quality/ISO 9001, EHS, Facilities, Logistics, Order Admin

-

-
NEBOSH/IOSH, or willingness to work towards it
-
ISO 9001 internal auditor experience
-
