We are seeking someone to join our team as a Associate in Legal & Compliance Division. In this role you will work with the wider Non-Financial Risk- Operational Risk team, the individual will interface with other functions within Legal & Compliance Department, First Line of Defense teams, Operational Risk Analytics Group, Information Technology and cross-entity risk teams and others.

In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Director level position. The team has a global presence in New York, and Mumbai. The selected individual will work closely across all levels and teams within NFR including frequent communication with senior stakeholders in New York / London / Hong Kong / Tokyo.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Assist in execution of the Operational Risk Quality Assurance Framework which includes qualitative review of Internal Incidents, Issues and Actions, External Incidents, and RCSA Risks & Controls

  • Working closely with several Business Units to amicably resolve open QA findings and ensure adherence to stipulated SLAs

  • Preparation of several monthly and annual data packs on, Incident & Issues Timeliness, RCSA risk profile, QA validation, RCSA pre scoping packs and on demand ancillary data analytics support as an when needed

  • Supporting execution of Operational Risk Capital processes like Capital Benchmarking, different types of variance analysis (Capital, Scenario Analysis, Internal Loss Data Variances)

  • Executing ORX consortium industry loss inbound and outbound process. Acting as subject matter expert to handle queries from ORX and participate in new data related industry projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or similar. Master's degree is a plus

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience within the financial services industry/consulting firms, or similar industries subject to comparable regulatory and legal considerations

  • Strong interest in financial services, risk management and reporting

  • A good understanding of operational risk concepts such as Issues, Risk and Control Assessment, Loss Incidents, Metrics. Knowledge around ORX consortium industry loss data would be a plus

  • Experience with execution/calculations of capital estimates and scalars along with different variance calculations will be an added advantage.

  • Expertise in PowerPoint and Advance Excel. Good working knowledge of VBA, Tableau, SQL, Power BI is desirable

  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to details

  • Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate and work across teams

Coverage

  • Monday to Friday from 11:00AM to 8:00PM. Coverage is dependent on business needs so flexibility on required finish time or full day's coverage may be required.
