Global Capital Markets
Morgan Stanley's Global Capital Markets (GCM) division responds with market judgments and ingenuity to clients' needs for capital. Whether executing an IPO, a debt offering or a leveraged buyout, GCM integrates our expertise in Sales and Trading and in Investment Banking to offer clients seamless advice and sophisticated solutions. GCM Strats work with bankers, traders, and other Strat groups across the firm and help differentiate Morgan Stanley’s investment banking franchise by using a combination of financial engineering, mathematical modeling, data science and computer science to analyze markets, products and capital market transactions.
About the Role
Join Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division as a Python Developer helping build internal tools that support bankers in delivering strategic and financial advice to global clients. While the core focus is backend development in Python, we welcome candidates with frontend experience (ideally React) who want to contribute across the stack.
What You’ll Do
- Develop backend services and data pipelines using Python to support internal banking tools.
- Build and maintain APIs, databases, software, tools and dashboards to streamline and enhance efficiency in client pitches, transaction execution, and reporting.
- Work closely with IBD Management and IBD Bankers globally on developing productivity, revenue generation, and risk reduction solutions.
- Own the full lifecycle of metrics development, including the process of data sourcing, data architecture design, implementation, and visualization.
- Contribute to frontend development using React if you’re interested.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Python development experience.
- Familiarity with databases and API design.
- Interest or experience in frontend development (React) is a plus but not required.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in English and collaborating with global teams.
- Confident command of English; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in finance.
