Java Copilot Software Engineer_ Vice President _Software Engineering

We’re seeking someone to join our Institutional Securities Technology team as a Lead Software Engineer, in Private Wealth Management (PWM) tech to manage, develop and design the applications leveraging Java, Springboot, Microservices, Kafka and Copilot.

Private Wealth Management Asia Technology (PWM Asia Tech) is responsible for providing front to back technology services to businesses that manage the Firm's high-net-worth clients in Asia and Australia, managing the technology platform that covers customer on-boarding, order management, on-going client service and reporting.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Lead Software Engineer position at Vice President Level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Build high-quality technology solutions enforcing strong engineering standards and best practices.

  • Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering, hands-on development, to deployment and maintenance.

  • As an individual contributor (IC) demonstrate strong technical leadership and independently drive business/technology initiatives.

  • Leverage AI tooling and best practices to accelerate development/SDLC process and drive efficiency.

  • Re-architect core components with modern architecture and design focusing on high availability, resiliency, and scalability as needed.

  • Engage with business stakeholders and technology senior management to review progress and gather feedback on initiatives.

  • Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving ability

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 10-15 years of overall experience in Application Development

  • 2-5 years of experience leading development initiatives with a small team (2-5 dev)

  • Hands-on development experience in Java and open-source server-side technologies

  • Strong experience in System/Application Design and Object-Oriented development

  • Tech Skills – Java, Spring Boot, REST API/Microservices, MQ/Kafka, SQL/NoSQL DB (MongoDB/Postgres), GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI, MCP, CI/CD, DevOps

  • Preferred Tech Skills (optional) – Web/Mobile App development experience using React/Node.js, Capacitor and native technologies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
