Moog Military Global Sustainment (MGS) is the premier motion and flow control solutions sustainment provider for Flight control components that are critical to aircraft performance and safety.
Moog’s MGS Group is a rapidly growing organization offering significant opportunities for professional development. We are seeking a Staff Program Manager to partner closely with MGS Leadership in the ongoing management of Moog’s development programs and aftermarket sustainment contracts. This role will focus on product support, modernization and upgrade initiatives, development programs, training solutions, and engineered sustainment capabilities that enable Military Sustainment operations.
The Staff Program Manager will provide direct sustainment and program expertise across the full contract lifecycle—business development, supporting proposals, system fielding, long‑term sustainment, modernization planning, and capability upgrades for Moog MGS systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring reliable, effective, and mission-ready support for our U.S. and international defense customers.
To be considered for this role, here’s what you will need to bring with you:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related subject matter area

7+ years of project or program management experience, with a track record of delivering on schedule and within budget
-
Demonstrated experience managing U.S. Government (USG) programs and sustainment contracts in a program / sustainment leadership role

Strong understanding of the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle
-
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey and discuss complex technical issues clearly
-
Self-driven leadership style, with the ability to work independently, set priorities, and drive tasks to completion

Broad USG sustainment domain experience, including:
-
Proposals and Program Management
-
Contracting and negotiations
-
Quality and compliance
-
Finance (forecasting, sales, margins)
-
Export compliance (ITAR/EAR)
-
Certifications and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, FAR/DFARS)
-
Continuous improvement methodologies
It would also be great if you had:

Technical expertise with Moog’s flight control, hydraulic, electro-mechanical and electronic systems—or comparable defense and aerospace technologies

Familiarity with business development practices, including driving new business whilst aligning with USG platform roadmaps and modernization strategies
Here's what you'll be working on day to day:
This role is crucial for maintaining the ongoing success in terms of schedule and budget performance of Moog MGS development programs and sustainment contracts.

Oversee assigned development programs and sustainment activities in support of MGS fielded assets, ensuring optimal system availability, reliability, and mission readiness.

Lead sustainment efforts across directed Moog MGS departments, identifying and implementing improvements while maintaining product availability and quality.

Manage program and sustainment scope for requirements, designs, testing, and delivery, including engineering changes and modifications, gaining customer approval for work and delivering final products.

Maintain deep knowledge and performance of assigned MGS sustainment contracts.

Provide leadership, guidance, and training to program / proposal and sustainment team members.

Oversee and manage all phases of program development proposals, including supporting new sustainment contracts.

Develop and maintain effective relationships across Moog U.S. and International sites in support of programs and global sustainment initiatives, as directed.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $130,000.00–$190,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
