Moog’s Space & Defense Group - Salt Lake City Operations is a high-production facility specializing in Control Actuation Systems for Missile Steering Applications, supporting a rapidly growing business with excellent opportunities for professional development.

We are currently seeking a Materials & Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of the supply chain organization to meet corporate, group, and divisional goals while meeting customer expectations for on-time delivery, cost, and quality. This position will also be responsible for the interface from the Salt Lake City Defense Group to Moog corporate supply chain management. Establishment of clear processes, policies, and efforts to continuously improve performance are also critical components of this position. The Materials & Supply Chain Manager will have oversight of annual procurements of >$100M as well as 7 direct and 5 indirect reporting professionals.
You will report directly to the Site General Manager and enjoy and on-site, collaborative working environment with a 9/80 schedule on first shift.
As our Materials & Supply Chain Manager, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for the following functions:

Develop and maintain a supply chain organization that meets the corporate, group, and divisional goals

Focus on meeting customers needs, improving upon on-time delivery, cost reduction, and quality of all products and services

Establish, monitor, and improve procedures for the planning, purchasing, and manufacturing of products for all product lines within the division which includes managing forecasts, creating purchase orders, execution of internal work orders, and maintenance of schedules

Establish an organization structure that interfaces effectively with other functions of Moog including assembly and test, program management, finance, and corporate supply chain

Lead cross-functional teams for continuous process improvements of the supply chain both within Moog and suppliers including processes within each organization as well as transactions between organizations

Create and maintain inventory targets and minimize obsolescence costs, as well as create and manage the budget for the supply chain organization within the division

Create and maintain clear metrics that monitor the performance of the internal and external supply chain

Coach and mentor staff within the supply chain organization and conduct regular performance evaluations

Participate in negotiations of key contracts and supplier agreements

Actively contribute to site leadership including strategic planning, employee engagement, and continuous improvement
Here are the skills and abilities that will make you successful in this role

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Material Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience
-
10+ years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of materials management supply chain, or similar field. Aerospace experience preferred.

5+ years of direct leadership experience with proven capability to lead, supervise, and manage direct reports
-
Familiarity with FARs (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARs (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations)
-
Sound understanding of ERP / MRP based material control systems

Ability to rapidly develop familiarity with the major customer, products, manufacturing processes, and suppliers of the division

Proven capabilities in materials management, contracting, dealing with suppliers, negotiations, government contracts, and effective communications

Willingness to travel to suppliers and customers (less than 25%)

Salary Range Transparency:
Salt Lake City, UT $128,000.00–$195,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
