We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Identity and Security Product Management to lead our Identity and Security Product Management team. This person will define and drive the execution of our product strategy for crucial functions across IAM and security, with a portfolio spanning authorization, authentication, Queryable Encryption, security hardening, and more. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders at every level of the organization, including executive leadership and cross-functional teams across multiple business units.
As the Director of Identity and Security Product Management, you will work closely with your engineering counterparts to define and deliver the roadmap for Identity and Access Management (IAM), Queryable Encryption, and Database Security. Your scope will span the MongoDB Atlas Platform, Core Database, and other critical companion services, ensuring that our IAM and security offerings continue to set the industry standard for excellence and innovation.
Your leadership in this role will be instrumental in maintaining our customers’ trust in MongoDB to deploy secure, high-performance applications with confidence, knowing their data is protected by cutting-edge security solutions.
This role can be based in Toronto or remotely in Canada.
Responsibilities

Lead the Identity & Security Product Management team responsible for delivering Identity and Access Management, Queryable Encryption, and other customer-facing security features within the MongoDB platform

Drive highly regulated customer platform security and compliance requirements into MongoDB products

Drive collaboration across Engineering, Customer Support, Marketing, Sales, and the Executive Leadership Team

Drive a strategic narrative with customers and industry thought leaders around database security and identity

Develop and maintain an accurate and up-to-date roadmap across your ownership areas in partnership with Engineering counterparts

Develop strategic, operational, and tactical recommendations tailored to our products to improve customers’ security posture and compliance positioning; regularly evangelize solutions at industry conferences, trade shows, and with key partners and accounts

Deeply understand all aspects of MongoDB - to ensure a business outcome aligned with our broader product, customer, and company priorities

Define security go-to-market strategies, identify key market/competitive trends and customer opportunities, and plan and manage programs to execute against those strategies by partnering with sales leadership at regional and global levels

Drive decision-making around prioritization, solutions, functionality, and pricing
Requirements

7+ years of experience managing teams and demonstrating leadership skills that bring together diverse viewpoints and drive a strategic agenda forward; can-do attitude, optimism, humility, and willingness to dive into ambiguity are all pluses!

10+ years of Product and/or Engineering Security experience working with enterprise-focused technologies and customers

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to large executive audiences and key enterprise customers globally

Experience or Expertise in One or more of the following: CEH, GSEC, CISM, Comp TIA Security +, CISSP, CISA, SSCP, CASP+, OSCP, AWS Solution Architect Pro, AWS Security, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or other cloud provider equivalents

Working knowledge and/or hands-on experience with several of the following areas: Identity & Access Management, operating system & platform security, network security, database security, and an understanding of network and web-related protocols

Strong subject matter expertise in the fields of IT security and risk management

Experience with cloud-native products and an in-depth understanding of microservice topologies and implementations

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and proactively address business, product, and technical challenges

Experience transforming traditional data center security measures into industry-adopted cloud technologies

Strong technical acumen - our Product Managers must be effective partners in decision-making with their engineering counterparts and have deep depth of knowledge.

Comfortable speaking with authority on any of the technical aspects of the topics in their portfolio, such as Jira, Aha, AWS, GCP, AZURE, Okta, Bug Bounties, DLP, Secure Web Browsing, Data Classification

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package.
