As MongoDB continues scaling our developer data platform and redefining how organizations build with data and AI, our storytelling has never been more critical.

We’re seeking a Director of Executive Communications to elevate the voices of MongoDB’s leaders and strengthen our corporate narrative on the global stage. This individual will be a strategic counselor to senior executives, a trusted voice within the company, and a creative storyteller who can shape how the world understands MongoDB’s vision, culture, and impact.

This role sits within the Corporate Communications team and reports directly to the Sr. Director of Global Communications. You’ll partner closely with executives, marketing, and product leaders to advance MongoDB’s reputation as one of the most innovative, values-driven companies in technology.

Position Expectations

  • Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership

Develop and execute executive communications strategies for MongoDB’s CEO, CPO, and other key leaders across global stages (press, keynotes, panels, digital channels)

  • Shape speeches, op-eds, internal memos, and external content that reflect MongoDB’s vision for developers, data, and the future of AI

  • Identify and secure high-impact platforms and moments that reinforce MongoDB’s leadership in the data and developer ecosystems

  • Corporate Narrative & Storytelling

Help executives tell MongoDB’s overarching corporate story, aligning product, culture, and mission into one cohesive narrative

  • Partner with media relations, brand, and product marketing teams to ensure consistent tone and message pull-through across all communications

  • Build content that connects MongoDB’s innovation and culture to broader market trends in AI, data infrastructure, and developer empowerment

  • Communications Strategy & Influence

Collaborate with the PR team and global PR agencies to amplify executive visibility and ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment in coverage.

  • Support executives cultivating strong relationships with the people and platforms that shape our story — from customers to journalists and analysts to event organizers and influencers — ensuring MongoDB’s leaders show up in the right conversations around the world.

  • Strategic Counsel

Serve as a communications advisor to executives, helping them articulate messages that resonate internally and externally

  • Support the leadership team during major corporate moments: earnings, keynotes, new product launches, M&A, and culture initiatives

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of communications experience, including significant time leading executive communications or corporate storytelling for a high-growth global technology company

  • Strong background in strategic messaging, and leadership visibility ideally in SaaS, data platforms, AI, or developer ecosystems

  • Proven success partnering with C-level leaders to shape authentic, differentiated narratives

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills from keynote scripts to press statements to internal communications

  • Experience collaborating with agencies and cross-functional teams across regions

  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-growth environments and acting as both a strategist and a hands-on writer

  • Deep curiosity about how technology, data, and developers are shaping the next era of software
