The Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud products.
This role will partner with Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Corporate Finance to drive capital- efficient growth across a complex, supply-constrained environment.
This role provides financial leadership across supply-demand planning, inventory strategy, capital governance, supplier deal modeling. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with cross-functional influence and process leadership.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply & Capacity Planning
- Partner with Capacity Planning team to analyze supply-demand scenarios, lead-time implications, and market constraints.
- Develop financial models to inform supply volume commitments, capital expenditure decisions, and inventory investments.
- Provide scenario-based recommendations to leadership under conditions of supply uncertainty.
Capital Governance & Investment Discipline
- Lead capex approval process for commodities, ensuring rigorous financial evaluation and compliance with capital allocation standards.
- Develop standardized ROI frameworks and post-investment performance tracking.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to prioritize capital deployment.
Supplier Deal & Sourcing Finance Support
- Provide financial modeling and deal support to Sourcing, including pricing analysis, rebate structures, cash flow and liability impacts.
- Support negotiation strategies through scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
- Ensure contractual terms align with financial objectives and risk parameters.
Rhythm of Business & Forecasting
- Own forecasting, close, long-range planning, and budgeting processes for supply chain-related financial components.
- Improve forecast accuracy through structured variance analysis and predictive modeling.
- Deliver executive-ready insights to inform planning assumptions and strategic decisions.

Qualifications:
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- This role follows a hybrid work model and is based in Redmond, Washington. Employees are expected to work on-site in Redmond on a regular, recurring basis in alignment with business and team needs.
Additional or preferred qualifications- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, supply chain finance, corporate finance, or related roles within a large, complex organization. - Demonstrated experience providing financial leadership in capital‑intensive or supply‑constrained environments, including scenario analysis and investment decision support.
- Proven ability to build and own financial models that inform capacity planning, capital expenditure, inventory strategy, and supplier commitments.
- Experience supporting capital governance processes, including capex evaluation, ROI analysis, and compliance with capital allocation standards.
- Business partnership skills, with a track record of influencing cross‑functional stakeholders across Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, and Corporate Finance.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, executive‑ready insights and recommendations.
- Analytical rigor combined with sound judgment in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment across senior audiences.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
