We are building the future of computing and are seeking a strong technical program manager to work with our world class quantum error correction team.
As the Principal Software Program Manager you will work with provide the bridge between research and engineering functions, manage end-to-end quantum error correction workflows from code exploration to fine grained modelling for various hardware configurations. Manage theory and modelling efforts across Microsoft teams and with 3rd party collaborations to converge on agreed noise models, hardware characterization, and code recommendations.

- Responsibilities- Strategy Decisions: drive alignment and clarity of architectural decisions ensuring a well-designed and enduring quantum error correction execution pipeline for our stack.
- Roadmap & Execution: Plan, lead, and execute against aggressive timelines for the end-to-end quantum error correction workflow, including code exploration and selection, coarse and fine grain modeling and ultimately productization.
- Driver Software Life Cycle: Manage the full software development lifecycle from design and coding to verification, calibration routines, and integration.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central interface across quantum teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and timely delivery across multiple stakeholders.
- Risk Mitigation: Anticipate technical and schedule blockers related to latency, hardware instability, or software bugs and propose migration strategies.
- Documentation & Standards: Ensure high-quality technical documentation, API specifications, and code standards are maintained.
- Program Management Excellence: Manage large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning software engineering, research, and product strategy. Lead product reviews and demonstrations.

- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirments:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 8+ years of experience in technical program management, specifically in complex software/hardware systems, or embedded systems.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
- Experience shipping software products leveraging agile methodologies.
- Experienced in quantum computing error corrections concepts.
- Experience managing large development programs and cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
