Product Marketing Manager - Confidentiality & Encryption
Overview
The Product Marketing Manager - Confidentiality & Encryption will own product marketing for Azure capabilities that help sovereign customers, governments, and regulated industries protect sensitive workloads, strengthen cryptographic control, and meet stringent sovereignty requirements. This role will lead positioning, messaging, launches, campaigns, and field enablement, while also shaping product direction through customer insight, market understanding, and competitive context.
You will help define how Azure enables secure sovereign cloud architectures, customer key control, and resilience against business continuity risks. This is a strategic, high-growth area within Azure and a rare opportunity to help build a category-defining business. As a key member of this emerging team, you will work closely with stakeholders across engineering, marketing, sales, and partners to accelerate growth across your portfolio and ensure customers understand the full value Azure delivers.
This role will shape how Azure earns trust in the world’s most demanding environments, where cryptographic assurance, customer control, and demonstrable compliance are non-negotiable. You will drive the strategy, storytelling, and execution for a high-growth set of security technologies that help customers modernize while meeting sovereign cloud, national security, and regulated industry requirements.

Responsibilities
- Partner closely with engineering to shape roadmap and investments for Confidential Computing, key management, and encryption—grounded in sovereign cloud requirements, regulatory controls, and customer scenarios.
- Define differentiated positioning and messaging that articulates end-to-end data protection (data in use, in transit, and at rest) and key control models required for sovereign and regulated customers.
- Build a portfolio of customer evidence and technical proof points (reference architectures, solution briefs, competitive insights, and compliance-aligned narratives) that scale globally while remaining locally relevant.
- Enable field and partner teams with launch kits, training, and repeatable plays to sustain Confidential Computing and key management/encryption marketing motions beyond initial release.
Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in in product marketing, technical marketing, or technical sales for cloud, security, or developer infrastructure products, including end-to-end launches OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in in product marketing, technical marketing, or technical sales for cloud, security, or developer infrastructure products, including end-to-end launches OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Experience marketing security capabilities such as encryption, key management/HSMs, confidential computing, identity/access controls, or compliance offerings—ideally for public sector or regulated industries
- Proven capability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across engineering, security, compliance, sales, and partners to drive business impact
- Experience in prioritization and program leadership—driving complex, cross-functional go-to-market deliverables from strategy to execution
- Experience creating technical messaging and content for security decision makers and practitioners (e.g., CISOs, security architects, platform teams) across owned and field channels
- Experience managing time-sensitive projects
- Experience and knowledge in security engineering, cryptography concepts, and customer trust outcomes—comfortable translating technical capabilities into clear customer value
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
