Senior Product Manager - Foundry Inferencing & Training (CoreAI - multiple roles)
Overview
The Foundry Inference & Training team builds the platforms, services, and operating mechanisms that power Microsoft’s rapidly growing AI model ecosystem. We enable developers and enterprises to discover, deploy, and run models with reliability, performance, efficiency, and scale—spanning model catalog and integrations, model serving and runtime services, experimentation and optimization, and the tooling that makes it easy to build on Foundry.
We are looking for several Senior Product Managers who will own product strategy and execution for our model ecosystem and offerings, designing product shape for inferencing and training. As a Senior Product Manager for Foundry Inference & Training you’ll work at the intersection of AI infrastructure, model offerings, developer tooling, ecosystem partnerships, and product growth, collaborating closely with engineering, data science, finance, and go-to-market teams to deliver capabilities that drive adoption and measurable impact.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap:
-
Own product strategy and roadmap across AI model training, inference, experimentation, and platform enablement, balancing near‑term delivery with long‑term scale
-
Translate customer needs and platform constraints into clear requirements and iterative delivery plans
Model Ecosystem & Offerings:
-
Evolve model offerings across the Foundry portfolio, including onboarding and scaling partnerships with flagship providers, open-source ecosystems, and emerging model/tooling partners
-
Identify high-impact opportunities to grow adoption (internal and external), including solutions for regulated and highly governed environments
Developer Experience, Tooling & SDKs
-
Drive developer-facing experiences - tooling, SDK workflows, documentation, and samples - so builders can integrate and ship on Foundry with low friction
-
Improve release and lifecycle mechanisms (packaging, automation, versioning, readiness) to scale delivery quality across a fast-moving platform
Efficiency, Utilization & Experimentation
-
Define and track efficiency and growth metrics (utilization, cost, performance, adoption), and lead experimentation to validate hypotheses and drive optimizations
-
Partner with engineering/data science/finance to deliver programs that improve utilization and efficiency (including incentives/pricing concepts where relevant)
Cross-Functional Execution & Communication:
-
Drive alignment across engineering, design, finance, marketing, and partner teams; manage dependencies and unblock execution in ambiguous environments
-
Build crisp narratives and dashboards that support decision-making and keep stakeholders aligned on progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development (or equivalent experience)
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience delivering AI, cloud services, developer tools, or platform products in fast-paced environments
-
Familiarity with model ecosystems (model providers, open-source tooling, LLM hosting, model onboarding and lifecycle)
-
Experience applying compliance, privacy, safety, or governance considerations in product design and launches
-
Strong analytical skills: defining metrics, running experimentation, and making data-driven tradeoffs
-
Background in platform/infrastructure domains (distributed systems, fleet efficiency, capacity/utilization, cost/perf optimization)
-
Exposure to GPUs or AI accelerators (or adjacent hardware/software stack considerations), including developer enablement for performance-oriented workloads
-
Experience with SDK delivery mechanics: packaging/distribution, documentation frameworks, CI/CD automation, and release readiness
-
Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate clearly with senior leadership
