Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) is under Microsoft Security organization and is at the center of Microsoft’s cloud strategy, playing a crucial role in our mission to secure the world's most valuable assets and most visited services. It consists of critical authentication, authorization, and directory services that are used by the millions of Azure, Office 365, XBOX and Windows users worldwide. Our Entra ID platform team is dedicated to delivering a highly reliable, efficient, and scalable infrastructure for the buildout and runtime management for all Entra ID services across Azure regions and clouds. • Responsibilities- Build maintainable, performant, secure, and well-tested code following best practices and drive improvements in code quality.
• Lead architecture discussions, develop complex design specifications, evaluate design options, and uphold design standards including security and scalability.
• Lead project planning and execution, ensuring security, compliance, and disaster recovery considerations are met in production readiness.
• Ensure security best practices by modeling “security as code” with appropriate controls, monitoring, and incident response processes.
• Manage live site operations including incident mitigation, monitoring, telemetry integration, and escalation, driving continuous reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with partner teams to ensure end-to-end integration, testing, live-site readiness, and scalability of solutions.
• Continuously update skills and share knowledge on engineering principles such as security, testability, and performance.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
