Our team does Click Prediction, Automated Ad Copy generation, Ranking and Pricing of Ads which are some of the most fundamental problems in Search Advertisement. Probability of being clicked is the most important feature used in Ranking of Ads. Ads Generation and Ranking are at the forefront of advancements in artificial intelligence and big data within computer science, presenting complex and compelling challenges.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. • Responsibilities- In this role, you would be working on solving ambiguous problems, designing and developing services with high reliability, 24x7 availability.
• You would spend significant amount of time working with big data technologies like Azure Data Lake, COSMOS, and at the same time would be creating high-availability services based on new and upcoming streaming solutions in this area.
• This role is a great fit for people with passion for working with short release cycles and delivering quality software including architecture, design, development, test, ship and support the software.
• This role would require collaborating with multiple teams within Ads Marketplace, Ads Platform, Ads Data platform, Search Platform.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to achieve mutually satisfying agreements in negotiations with others by listening to their objective.
• Proven technical leadership for the identification of dependencies and incorporating them into the development of design documents for a product, application, service or platform. Lead the active identification of other teams and technologies to leverage, how they interact, and where their own system or team can support other.
• Proven record of accomplishment of delivering on commitments under tight schedule.
• Strong algorithm and analytical background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems.
• Ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve issues on a recurring basis, in a large-scale, distributed cloud environment.
• Multi year experience in stream computing, large scale inferencing and training service, big data services (ADLS, Cosmos) is a plus.

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
