About the Role

The Advanced Technology Engineer, Metrology at Micron Technology, Inc. is mainly responsible for creating/modifying metrology recipes and building detection systems for yield and quality improvement. You will correspond with all product-related items and also conduct transfer work from TD. You will be working with a team of PI, process and equipment engineers responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing metrology recipes to improve product quality and reliability, working on detection enhancement, yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management, as well as resolving manufacturing line problems.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Create/modify metrology recipes and build detection for yield and quality improvement
  • Correspond with all product-related items
  • Conduct transfer work from TD
  • Collaborate with PI, process and equipment engineers to start up, develop, and optimize metrology recipes
  • Improve product quality and reliability
  • Work on detection enhancement and improvement
  • Improve yield and productivity
  • Reduce costs
  • Manage risks
  • Resolve manufacturing line problems
  • Assess recipe healthiness and explore new methodologies
  • Address capacity, quality, and yield optimization (detection and related new responsibilities)
  • Develop in collaboration with the technology development team to meet Micron's technology roadmap

Must Have Requirements

  • Basic level semiconductor knowledge
  • Knowledge equivalent to Bachelor's degree
  • Report progress of each task timely and accurately
  • Build good relationships with team members, all related members, and Network Business Partners
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to have conversations and create documents in English
  • Understand quality control and establish proactive quality improvement measures
  • Ability to clearly communicate with content experts via email, chat, and face-to-face (conference calls, etc.)
  • Proven ability to set, measure, and achieve short and long-term goals
  • Must be willing to be stationed at F15 MFG (Hiroshima manufacturing) site for extended periods when required

Good to Have

  • High level semiconductor knowledge
  • Knowledge equivalent to Master's degree
  • Metrology knowledge
  • Micron basic knowledge (transfer experience/BKM, etc.)
  • Understanding of Micron's worldwide team structure, standards, and processes
  • Overall understanding of typical step sequences in memory manufacturing traveler
