Millions of individuals, self-employed professionals, and small businesses rely daily on Intuit products—including Turbo Tax, Quick Books, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp—to manage their finances, build confidence, and achieve their goals. Our success is founded on trust, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of delivering exceptional customer experiences through technology. The Identity Organization is central to Intuit’s global platform strategy, enabling every user, expert, and partner to connect and transact securely across our ecosystem. Identity functions as the gateway to all Intuit experiences, ensuring that every authentication, authorization, and session interaction is secure, seamless, and privacy-first. This team develops and operates the systems that underpin Intuit’s Zero Trust architecture, providing essential capabilities that power billions of trusted interactions annually.
As the Group Manager of Engineering – Identity, you will spearhead the transformation of Intuit’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform into a modern, intelligent, and developer-centric foundation. You will define the long-term strategy and technical roadmap for Identity, driving the design and delivery of scalable, reliable, and compliant solutions that safeguard users and accelerate innovation.
This role requires a visionary technology leader with extensive expertise in platform engineering, identity systems, and cloud-native architectures, coupled with a proven ability to lead diverse, distributed teams through complex transformations. You will collaborate closely with peers across Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Developer Platforms to ensure Intuit’s Identity services not only meet the highest standards of security and resilience but also enable velocity and delight for internal developers and end customers alike.
Responsibilities
-
Technology Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the long-term technical and architectural strategy for the Identity platform, aligning with Intuit’s enterprise vision for security, scalability, and customer trust. Champion the concept of Identity-as-a-Platform, delivering reusable services that power consistent, secure, and frictionless user journeys across all Intuit products. Drive the evolution of Identity systems using modern protocols and standards, including OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, FIDO2, and SCIM, while incorporating adaptive and risk-based access controls. Partner with senior leaders across Security, PDX, and Product organizations to ensure Identity capabilities are deeply integrated into the SSDLC and aligned with enterprise-wide security posture.
-
Platform Development & Delivery: Lead multiple engineering teams to design, construct, and scale core Identity capabilities, including authentication, authorization, single sign-on (SSO), and governance frameworks. Deliver cloud-native, multi-tenant identity services capable of supporting millions of daily authentications, while ensuring low latency, high availability, and seamless interoperability. Advocate for a developer-first mindset, providing APIs, SDKs, and automation tools that empower product teams to integrate Identity features with ease and security. Utilize data-driven insights and telemetry to assess system reliability, detect anomalies, and continually enhance performance and resilience.
-
AI and Automation in Identity: Partner with AI/ML and Security teams to integrate intelligence into Identity workflows — from anomaly detection and behavioral analytics to adaptive authentication and automated recovery.
Explore and apply Generative AI capabilities to enhance developer productivity, accelerate incident response, and improve threat modeling and prevention. Drive automation of manual operational processes to reduce toil, minimize human error, and improve time to resolution (MTTR).
-
Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain world-class operational metrics for availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
Embed Zero Trust principles across all Identity services, ensuring continuous verification and defense-in-depth.
Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards (GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001) while proactively embedding privacy-by-design into all development and deployment processes.
Lead readiness reviews, chaos testing, and service reliability programs to ensure business continuity and user trust.
-
People & Organizational Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing organization of senior engineers and leaders with deep domain expertise in identity, security, and distributed systems.
Attract, mentor, and develop top engineering talent — fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Serve as a coach and thought leader, providing clarity and direction in complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Partner with senior business and technology executives to align priorities, drive execution, and influence strategic decisions across Intuit’s global ecosystem.
-
Collaboration & Influence:Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Security, Compliance, and Platform Engineering to deliver customer-centric outcomes.
Represent Intuit in industry forums and standards organizations (e.g., FIDO Alliance, OpenID Foundation) to influence best practices and strengthen Intuit’s leadership in digital trust.
Inspire a boundary-less leadership culture — enabling collaboration across teams, geographies, and disciplines to accelerate progress and innovation.
