Description and Requirements
The Retail Pricing Analyst plays an important role in supporting Met Life Australia’s Retail Pricing function, contributing to the profitability and competitiveness of our retail life insurance portfolio. Guided by our purpose — always with you, building a more confident future — and our New Frontier strategy, this role supports adviser and customer needs through high‑quality pricing analysis, product reviews and new product launches.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early‑career analyst to apply strong analytical and coding skills, build deep actuarial capability and contribute to innovation through the practical application of AI, automation and modern data tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pricing and experience analysis for individual retail life insurance products, including portfolio reviews and new product launches.
- Analyse and interpret data to generate insights that support product optimisation and future innovation.
- Develop, maintain and enhance pricing models, tools and automation solutions, contributing to the team’s broader AI adoption agenda.
- Prepare and present pricing insights to internal stakeholders including product, risk management and distribution teams, and support adviser engagement.
- Build strong partnerships with colleagues across the business while developing market, product and regulatory knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Actuarial Science or a related discipline, with a strong academic record.
- Strong analytical, modelling and problem‑solving capability, with foundational skills in Excel and Python.
- Ability to engage with basic machine learning concepts and use AI‑assisted tools to support analysis, learning and automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort using AI‑enabled and digital productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft 365 Copilot or similar) to support efficient work outcomes, with sound judgement and adherence to organisational policies, governance and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to retail life insurance pricing or actuarial analysis.
- Strong data visualisation and reporting skills.
- Genuine curiosity about AI, automation and emerging technology, with a desire to apply these practically.
- Progression toward, or intention to commence, actuarial qualifications.
