The Opportunity:

The Lead Exchange Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Office 365, Exchange On-premise and Open Blue Resource Scheduler solutions that enable effective E-mail communications across Met Life. This role requires a deep understanding of Messaging technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

The Lead Exchange Engineer is responsible for leading the design and implementation of E-mail solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and meet user needs. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, vendors and business stakeholders, in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Microsoft 365 solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft Exchange Hybrid, Automation, Power BI, Scripting and Reporting technologies.
  • Develop and maintain architecture and infrastructure for messaging platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand collaboration needs and provide strategic recommendations for technology solutions.
  • Establish and enforce E-mail standards, policies, and best practices across the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze Exchange usage and performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Lead a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging messaging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and driving adoption where appropriate.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in resolving complex collaboration-related issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Exchange engineering. With at least 3 years in a lead technical role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical expertise in messaging platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, Automation, and Scripting.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration solutions and integration with enterprise systems.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience with Identity Management/Directory Sync.
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and infrastructure principles as they relate to collaboration technologies.
  • Experience with Proofpoint and/or Cisco Email Security perimeter security appliances a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks and Resource Scheduler
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Exchange \ Office.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is*$110,000 - $135,000**. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms. *
