Product & Pricing Actuary

The Team You Will Join

The Product team plays a central role within Product & Pricing Actuary function. This team is responsible for developing competitive value propositions, ensuring best‑in‑class product design, and supporting the long-term profitability of the Life and A&H portfolio. Working closely with Actuarial, Marketing, Distribution, Operations, and Compliance, the team ensures that every product reflects deep customer insight, strong technical foundations, and market relevance.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an environment where innovation, analytical rigor, and customer-centricity guide every decision.

The Opportunity

As a Product & Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible for designing, improving and launching Life and A&H value propositions aligned with Met Life’s strategy. This role is pivotal in transforming the Iberian Life business by combining customer insight, advanced modelling, predictive analytics, and agile delivery methodologies.

Your work will directly influence the company’s competitiveness, profitability, and ability to meet customer expectations. This position is essential to maintaining market differentiation and ensuring long-term sustainable growth.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Design, enhance, and launch product value propositions for Life and A&H.
  • Integrate customer insights, user research, and market benchmarks into product development.
  • Define pricing strategies ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Apply advanced actuarial and predictive modelling to support product and pricing decisions.
  • Develop market-driven pricing supported by analytics and customer segmentation.
  • Implement automation across the product lifecycle to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), ensuring timely delivery.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (IDD, Solvency II and PRIIPs) across all stages of product development.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, Distribution, Actuarial, Operations, and CX teams to drive implementation and performance.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

Hard Skills

  • Degree in Actuarial Science preferred; Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or similar also welcome.
  • Strong data fluency: ability to interpret, model and translate complex data into decisions.
  • Experience in actuarial modelling (EV, profit testing, predictive modelling, risk control).
  • Technical knowledge of Life and A&H insurance, both individual and group.
  • Expertise in user and market research, especially around customer needs and experience.
  • Programming and analytics experience: SQL, Power BI, Tableau and AI.
  • Experience in pricing and product development in relevant insurance markets.

Soft Skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate effectively in Portuguese and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior leaders and external partners.
