Content Designer
About the role
Content designers at Meta craft simple, straightforward and human experiences. Approaching design through the lens of language, we leverage our expertise in user experience design, design thinking and product strategy. Come join our team to create and shape great, intuitive products and services used by billions of people around the world every day.
You’ll be expected to design and deliver product flows, new features, in-product language, content frameworks, navigation, product naming and more, for platforms including mobile, desktop, AR/VR and hardware. The Meta Content Design team is one of the largest and most established in the world, and includes people at various stages in their careers and from a range of backgrounds.
Content Designer Responsibilities:
Design, edit and test clear, compelling in-product language to help users and teams meet their goals. This includes product flows, interface language, education materials, product names, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across Meta products and experiences
Apply systems thinking to the product, whether it’s defining extensible design system guidance, conducting audits of existing experiences or creating information architecture
Use your familiarity with how code works in software. This may involve doing things like updating language in code with internal tools, reviewing code to ensure the in-product language is as intended, or creating the logic to personalize the experience for a user
As a thought leader, give and solicit feedback from your peers from every discipline, in service of building the best products
Use Figma to illustrate ideas and design solutions
Create high-fidelity design mocks and sometimes prototypes using components in Figma, and use them to drive decision-making with cross-functional stakeholders
Collaborate daily with peers across disciplines, including engineering, design, research, marketing and data science, to take products from conception to launch
Regularly facilitate sprints and workshops to help align teams around a common problem to solve, goal, purpose, or range of solutions
Partner with our internationalization team to ensure product experiences are of the highest quality in every language
Demonstrate sound judgment and lead product decisions, team direction and strategy
Independently and proactively identify and work on projects that span multiple teams. This may involve driving alignment for cross-functional leaders, other stakeholders and product strategy
Create internal networks to build community, provide mentorship and develop skills of other content designers
Minimum Qualifications:
9+ years’ experience in UX/Content Design
Examples of wireframes, design mocks or prototypes authored using design tools, that have been used to express concepts and drive solutions with leaders from all disciplines
Expertise with simplifying and communicating complex ideas clearly to company leaders through written proposals, presentations, or design reviews
Familiarity with tools for managing and updating content at scale
Examples of work in design systems and systems thinking
Demonstrated experience identifying and creating projects with minimal direction and navigating ambiguity by defining problem scope, success criteria, and next steps independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Flex-ready operating model — proven ability to context-switch across projects, partner orgs, and problem altitudes (from high-level strategy to in-product UX writing) while maintaining quality and momentum
Individual contributor leadership — ability to seamlessly step into complex, ambiguous spaces and lead content direction with minimal onboarding, including workstreams on the critical path for major product launches
Consumer storytelling expertise — experience crafting clear, compelling narratives in user-facing product experiences
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Cross-functional leadership — can serve as the Content Design lead on a workstream, earning trust from product, engineering, and design partners quickly
AI-native content design fluency — experience with model design, generative AI logic, and defining assistant behavior and tone at the systems layer (not just surface-level copy)
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
