About the role

Reporting to the Head of Tax – Asia Pacific, You will have tax compliance responsibilities for some of the APAC entities, drive tax technology initiatives, support tax audits, and serve as a trusted advisor to business teams on tax matters. You will work closely with the indirect tax team, accounting, and broader finance and business functions.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, complex environment and wants to shape how tax is managed across the Asia Pacific region.

  • Asia Pacific Responsibilities
    Tax Compliance & Reporting – Manage tax compliance for some of the APAC entities, including review of tax returns, payment calculations, forecasts, and deferred tax calculations. Provide technical analysis in support of statutory audits. Oversee and coordinate tax compliance activities outsourced to external service providers
    Tax Technology – Drive the implementation and adoption of tax technology solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
    Transfer Pricing – Ensure transfer pricing obligations (e.g., documentation, filings) are met under local laws and regulations
    Tax Accounting – Support quarterly tax accounting and reporting, including calculation and tracking of transfer pricing corrections and Uncertain Tax Positions
    Tax Audits – Manage and support tax audits across the region, liaising with tax authorities and advisors as needed
    Business Advisory – Partner with the Head of Tax to advise business teams on tax implications and opportunities
    Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with regional business, finance, legal, and policy leaders to proactively share tax insights and information

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Law:

12+ years of relevant APAC tax experience spanning tax compliance, transfer pricing, tax advisory, and tax controversy
Comfortable with tax technology tools and systems
Experience applying analytical, organisational, research, and project management skills to deliver tax projects on time and with accuracy
Ability to distil complex tax concepts into clear, actionable communication for non-tax stakeholders
Effective collaborator who works well across functions and levels
Highly organised, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing competing deadlines based on impact and stakeholder needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Combined experience in-house (commercial) and at a Big 4 accounting firm
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Experience in a large, multinational organisation with operations across multiple APAC jurisdictions
Experience with Australian tax compliance, advisory, or controversy work will be an added advantage
Proficiency in tax technology platforms, data tools, and automation
Familiarity with AI and its applications in tax processes (e.g., leveraging AI for compliance, data analysis, or process automation)
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
