Drivetrain Engineer

Objectives:

China is the biggest passenger car market for Mercedes-Benz R&D China, we strive to provide China fit products with China speed. We need to responsible for the development of drivetrain parts in China

This means you will be responsible:

• Drivetrain parts development job from spec to the final lifetime.(shafts and differential)

• Responsible for the part evaluation and release.

• Responsible for the project management between external with supplier, internally with Quality, Project team, plant, and escalate/report project status.

• Import part China interface for findings discussions.

Main tasks:

• Drivetrain part development/localization project work (side shaft & differentical)

• Review of drivetrain parts requirement and validation plan.

• Define validation content and release criteria.

• Steering externally and internally in drivetrain validation during development phase

• As technical manager of drivetrain system to vehicle side.

• Lead part lifetime related changes, optimization, costdown, new variant development according to MB project required.

• Support plant assembly and LCM topics of drivetrain parts.

Qualifications:

Experience: Working experience in drivetrain parts development.

Specific knowledge:

• Experienced in development of mechanical components for drive systems (Transmission, differential, shafts)
• fluent written/spoken English; German beneficial.
• Good understanding and practical experience of development project
• Deep knowledge of automotive drivetrain systems
• Familiar with drivetrain parts standards in China and good supplier management skill.
• Self-responsible working attitude, self-motivated and innovative workstyle and striving for constant improvement of work efficiency
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
