Intern Market Development Strategy at Medtronic
About the role
At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.
A Day in the Life This posting is part of our cooperation with Saïd Business School (University of Oxford) and is open only to Master’s degree students of this university. Applications from other candidates will not be considered.Deadline to apply:
15th May 2026
The internship will focus on developing a product differentiation strategy and a scalable competitive advantage by leveraging Medtronic’s TAVI strategic programs and strategic partnerships in the AI and digital space.
Medtronic’s Structural Heart business introduced the first commercially available transcatheter aortic valve (Evolut) in Europe in 2007. This innovative, life saving technology enables the treatment of patients with aortic stenosis and represents an estimated $6B market opportunity by 2035. Medtronic has long been a market leader, recognized for the quality of its products, strong clinical evidence, and the excellence of its implanter training programs worldwide.
In recent years, increased competition has intensified market dynamics, leading to significant price pressure and a growing need to deliver value beyond the product itself. To address this challenge, Medtronic is seeking to develop a unique value proposition that will serve as a strong differentiator for Evolut in key markets.
The internship will involve value mapping, identification of key value enhancers, and an assessment of whether these value enhancers should be developed organically or inorganically through partnerships. The role will also evaluate the best approach to scale this product differentiation strategy from an initial pilot market (the UK) to other countries across Western Europe.
This internship will give you hands-on experience in strategic marketing intelligence, market analysis, and cross-functional teamwork, helping you build valuable skills for a future career in the Med Tech industry.
