A Day in the Life

In this role, you will lead and manage in‑country corporate and business communications strategies across the Benelux region to promote, enhance, and protect Medtronic’s reputation with key internal and external audiences. You translate business goals and objectives into impactful, measurable communications strategies and execute end‑to‑end plans. In close alignment with local leadership teams, you focus on agreed strategic priorities and clearly communicate roles, deliverables, and the expected impact of communications initiatives to all relevant stakeholders.
You will work under the leadership of the Western Europe Lead and cover the Western Europe region. At least 20% of travel is expected.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Bachelor’s degree required, with advanced expertise in communications typically gained through significant relevant experience and/or advanced education; excellent written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills in Dutch and English
• Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the Benelux healthcare marketplace and industry practices
• Proven ability to influence internal and external decision-makers and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience developing, executing, and measuring strategic communications initiatives, including project, timeline, and budget management
• Strong knowledge of traditional, digital, social, and emerging AI-enabled communications tools and channels, with deep understanding of Medtronic branding, policies, and processes
• Highly detail-oriented and resilient professional who performs well under pressure, meets tight deadlines, exercises tact and professionalism, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Business or Life Sciences and 5+ years of successful professional experience in biomedical or related industry
• Proven successful experience in leading and coaching people with diverse backgrounds, within a Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Company
• Teamwork-oriented and interested in working in a multicultural and cross-functional environment
• Proven ability to lead commercial negotiations and manage tenders
• Strong business acumen and networking skills
• Self-motivated, organized, solution-oriented with a positive attitude
• Fluency in both Dutch and English

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
