Role Overview:

The Marketing Finance and Customers Funds Planner is a dual focus individual contributor role supporting Northern Europe Marketing Finance and Divisional Finance. The role is responsible for day to day financial operations, governance, and oversight of marketing investments and Customer Funds across multiple markets.

The person closely works with Marketing, Finance, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate budget management, disciplined forecasting, compliant processing of purchase orders and invoices, and transparent tracking and reporting of marketing spend and funds utilization.

This position plays a key role in enabling effective marketing execution through strong financial controls, structured ways of working, and clear guidance to non finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Budget & Forecast Management

  • Support planning, forecasting, and follow up of marketing budgets across Northern Europe markets.

  • Track actuals versus forecast and support variance analysis in collaboration with Marketing and Finance.

  • Maintain structured budget overviews by market, initiative, and funding source.

  • Purchase Orders, Invoicing & Accruals

  • Support end to end PO processes for marketing initiatives, including PO creation, amendments, invoice validation, and accruals.

  • Act as an operational point of contact between Marketing teams, Finance Operations, agencies, and vendors to support timely and compliant processing.

  • Customer Funds Support

  • Provide operational and analytical support to stakeholders using Customer Funds across markets.

  • Maintain funds usage trackers and support consistency between approved initiatives and financial reporting.

  • Support funds governance processes and respond to stakeholder queries related to funds usage.

  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reporting on funds utilization and support Divisional Finance close and forecast activities involving funds, including accruals.

  • Financial Governance & Ways of Working

  • Ensure compliance with Mastercard financial policies, processes, and audit requirements.

  • Support strong financial governance by monitoring processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and escalating issues where appropriate.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Area Marketing teams, Marketing Finance, Divisional Finance, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

  • Translate financial requirements into clear, practical guidance for non finance stakeholders.

  • All About You

  • Experience in marketing finance, financial planning, business operations, or a related analytical role

  • Hands on experience with budget management, forecasting, P&L awareness, and PO/invoice processes

  • Experience supporting marketing or commercial teams in a multi market or regional environment is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Structured and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively across functions

  • Owns defined operational and analytical responsibilities and delivers consistent, high quality outcomes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience.
