Summary:
The Vice President, Account Management for Mercado Pago LAC is a senior strategic leader responsible for driving the growth, retention, and expansion of key customer relationships across the region. This role sets the long-term commercial vision for the business, leading the development and execution of regional account strategies that unlock new market opportunities, accelerate revenue generation, and strengthen Mercado Pago’s leadership in the digital payments ecosystem. The VP acts as a trusted advisor to high-level clients, shaping innovative solutions that anticipate market trends and customer needs while influencing internal stakeholders to deliver seamless cross-functional execution. This role combines deep commercial expertise, industry thought leadership, and a strong ability to navigate complex negotiations in one of the region’s most dynamic and high-growth industries.
Mercado Libre hosts the largest online commerce and payments ecosystem in LAC. Founded in 1999, is an Argentine company with presence in 18 countries. Mercado Pago, Mercado Libre’s Fintech business, is present in 8 countries, where their operations are based on financial services.
Face to Mastercard, Mercado Pago is a unique player in the region, and most probably around the
world, that runs all businesses: Marketplace, Issuer, Acquirer (PSP & Gateway), and Digital Wallet,
standing out in each of these verticals.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth

Sets ambitious objectives and plays a lead role in achieving regional sales and net revenue targets.

Oversees the design and deployment of comprehensive sales plans across Mercado Pago’s product portfolio, including business development, marketing, and product integration strategies.

Reviews performance reports and analytics to identify whitespace opportunities, expansion potential, and untapped market segments.

Customer Leadership & Relationship Management

Leads and manages senior-level relationships with key enterprise customers and strategic partners across LAC.

Provides consultative guidance, industry insights, and thought leadership to customers, enabling them to capture the value of digital payments innovation.

Negotiates complex customer agreements, ensuring global alignment and cross-regional resource coordination.

Market Development & Opportunity Expansion

Identifies and builds new business opportunities across emerging verticals, digital ecosystems, and evolving payment trends.

Represents the voice of customers and the market to internal stakeholders, advocating for relevant product enhancements, service improvements, and innovation priorities.

Shapes compelling customer value propositions, messaging frameworks, and commercial proposals aligned with Mercado Pago’s growth strategy.

Cross-Functional Execution

Leads cross-functional customer initiatives by partnering closely with Product, Local Account Management teams in different markets

Ensures flawless implementation of commercial strategies, new solutions, and expansion roadmaps for strategic accounts.

Facilitates the internal governance process for key accounts, enabling clear prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.

- You are an influential and visionary commercial leader with a strong track record of managing complex enterprise relationships and driving high-impact business growth in the digital payments, technology, or financial services ecosystem. You excel at building trust with C-level stakeholders and creating innovative, customer-centric solutions that unlock long-term value.
- Seasoned account manager with deep experience in account management, business development, or commercial strategy roles, including leadership at a regional or enterprise level.
- Proven success achieving aggressive revenue targets and expanding strategic accounts in highly competitive, fast-paced markets.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire high-performing teams and build strong cross-functional partnerships.
- Deep understanding of the LAC payments landscape, digital commerce, financial technology, and evolving market trends.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities, and inform decision-making.
- Executive communication and negotiation skills, with experience navigating complex commercial agreements.
- Customer-centric mindset, acting as a trusted advisor while championing the client’s voice internally.
- Fluency in Spanish and English
