Position: Expert Sales Consumer Credit and Contactless Payments– Iberia
Department: Western Europe (WE) Expert Sales
Location: Master Card Iberia, Madrid
Reporting to: Head of Expert Sales WE Region

Iberia:
As Master Card is expanding its position in the Iberia market, it is preparing to become a major player in credit cards and mobile payments. To support this effort we are looking for several strong leaders that strengthen the local organization to serve Master Card’s objectives.

Overview:

  • The Expert Sales Manager is leading the development of new product opportunities aligned with specific market and customer needs. This person will work closely with customers, account managers and product managers. Driving the process to identify opportunities, this person will be leveraging specific Master Card products and platforms to grow the customer and Master Card’s revenues, while meeting strategic product objectives. They also lead the development and implementation of local product strategies.
  • The Expert Sales manager is the leader of the local product strategy development and delivery, in support of the overall strategy defined by the country General Manager; as such he/she is responsible for the definition and pro-active co-ordination of various internal supporting entities: Core products team, Innovative Platforms team, Pricing, alignment with Marketing, etc.
  • The Iberia Expert Sales Manager is the main counterpart of the Iberia customer banks for Credit and Contactless product-related matters; as such one of his/her main challenge is to strengthen Master Card’s position as a key partner by demonstrating value to the banks’ senior management through direct sales discussions lead by the Master Card account managers;
  • The Expert Sales manager is responsible for the pro-active identification, business case development and prioritization of Credit and Contactless product initiatives that drive the customer and Master Card revenues, both for product under Master Card brand name
  • The Expert Sales manager actively participates to the customer planning process led by the Account Managers.
  • The Expert Sales manager pro-actively communicates and coordinates actions with the product development organization to highlight product innovation opportunities emerging from his market.

For 2012, The Expert Sales Manager will focus on:

For Consumer Credit:

  • Deliver local Premium strategy: Engage with local and central (engaging with Master Card Consumer Credit strategy) teams to launch Premium product in Spain
  • Understand Spanish market Premium segment needs and trends to continue enriching MA Premium value proposition
  • Engage with Master Card Marketing local team to develop Premium communication strategy and PL Madrid
  • Support Master Card sales local team to sell new Master Card Premium product
  • Get the commitment of significant issuers to launch new Master Card Premium product

For Contactless Payments:

  • Develop strong relationships with the Spain’s and Portugal´s major Telcos to warranty Master Card state of the art in mobile space
  • Support Master Card sales local team to sell and develop mobile projects with Iberia’s most significant issuers
  • Develop compelling innovative propositions (regarding contactless payments) to help Account Managers to win/renew deals

Experience & Skills Required for this function:

  • Very strong sales / business development skills in addition to product expertise required to interact with senior management of customer banks;
  • Ability to understand the customers’ product strategy and ability to position Master Card offerings within it;
  • Strong experience in selling complex solutions;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Iberia payment banking market (incl. Retail banking, card payments, as well as ideally contactless and Mobile);
  • Strong thought leadership and ability to influence others, ability to manage cross-functional projects;
  • Multi-disciplinary view: ability to integrate multiple products and solutions into sensible customer propositions;
  • Self driven and highly energetic person;
  • English and Spanish speaking a must.
