Manager, Franchise Innovation, Data Products

As the payments ecosystem becomes increasingly data‑driven, Franchise Data as a Service (DaaS) is a critical evolution of our Franchise strategy. By unlocking, standardizing, and scaling access to high‑quality network, compliance, and operational data, we enable deeper insights, stronger performance outcomes, and differentiated value for customers, partners, and Mastercard teams alike.
The Franchise team sets standards, onboards participants, resolves disputes, and safeguards the integrity of the network. Through the Data as a Service initiative, we extend this mission by delivering trusted, actionable data products that support a long‑term, healthy, and sustainable ecosystem—fueling continued growth for Mastercard and our customers.
The Role:
This role will lead the DaaS initiative, defining and executing the strategy to transform Franchise data into scalable, consumable, and high‑value data products for internal and external audiences.
You will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Franchise data products—spanning data strategy, product definition, platform enablement, governance, insights, and go‑to‑market execution—while partnering closely with Franchise Product Owners, Technology, Data Strategy, AI, and Customer Experience teams.

S Strategy & Product Leadership:

Define and lead the Franchise DaaS strategy and roadmap, aligning closely with Franchise priorities, enterprise Data Strategy, and long‑term platform evolution

Identify, define, and evolve Franchise data products (e.g., dashboards, APIs, extracts, benchmarks, insights, and analytics) for internal users and external customers

Own product vision, value proposition, scope, and success metrics for Franchise DaaS offerings

Data Platform & Enablement:

Partner with Technology teams to design and deliver scalable, secure, and governed data platforms, including batch, API, and dashboard‑based delivery models

Collaborate with engineering on data architecture, data pipelines, data quality frameworks, metadata management, and tooling
-
Drive improvements in data availability, timeliness, reliability, and usability across Franchise data assets

3. Governance, Quality & Standards
-
Establish and operationalize data governance, access controls, and usage policies in collaboration with Legal, Risk, and Data Management teams

Ensure Franchise data products comply with Mastercard rules, specifications, product mandates, and privacy requirements

Champion clear data definitions, data dictionaries, lineage, and transparency to promote consistent and trusted usage

Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence:

Partner deeply with Franchise Product Owners to identify priority data needs, KPIs, and insights that drive measurable business outcomes

Build strong working relationships with Technology, Data Strategy, AI, and CX teams to shape user journeys and analytical experiences

Influence senior stakeholders across regions and functions, balancing competing priorities and driving alignment on data investments

5. Insights, Measurement & Value Realization

Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, performance, and business impact of Franchise data products
-
Translate data and metrics into compelling narratives that demonstrate value, scalability, CX improvements, and NPS impact
-
Continuously assess platform and product performance to recommend enhancements and new opportunities
-
6. Go‑To‑Market & Communication

Develop product documentation, enablement materials, and executive‑ready communications to support go‑to‑market efforts
-
Coordinate customer communications, launches, and change management in partnership with Franchise Product Owners
-
Present Franchise DaaS strategy, roadmap, and outcomes internally and externally via forums, leadership reviews, and conferences
All About You:
- Proven experience leading data‑driven product initiatives, data platforms, or Data as a Service offerings in fintech, payments, or adjacent industries
- Experience partnering with engineering and data teams to define requirements for dashboards, KPIs, benchmarks, and self‑service analytics consumed by diverse internal and external users
- Experience working with large‑scale data platforms, analytics tools, dashboards, and APIs
- Hands‑on experience with data visualization, analytics, and data governance tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and enterprise data cataloging platforms like Atlan (or similar), with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for business and executive audiences
- Deep understanding of card‑based authorization, clearing, network data, and compliance programs—or the ability to rapidly develop this expertise
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple, parallel workstreams
- Self‑starter with strong sense of ownership, accountability, and passion for quality
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and collaborate across culturally and geographically diverse teams
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, adaptable to technical and executive audiences
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a data‑driven approach to decision making
- Comfortable leading through ambiguity and helping teams navigate change
