Overview:

The Distributed Platforms team is looking for Principal Platform Architect to own and develop a cohesive architecture across our various on-premise compute, storage and runtime products and services, along with owning our hardware standards ensuring we are optimally placed to provide our customers with the best possible experience today and in the future across storage, CPU compute and GPU compute platforms. The ideal candidate must have an infrastucutre architecture background with a passion for understanding how various compute and storage products and services interact with each other and how they fit together to provide a common architectue across our global datacenters.
Role
In this architecture position, you will:

• Own overall compute and storage archtectural patterns and designs for the distributed platforms program
• Work closely with SMEs in each of our teams and in partern teams like networks, database and datacenter engieering to help build and implement strategic roadmaps to evolve our compute and storage offerings
• Own our GPU/AI infrastucutre strategy for compute and storage
• Build and maintan architectural standars, patterns and processes

All About You:

The ideal candidate for this position should:

• Have strong experience owning and developing compute and storage architectures
• Have strong experience across many of our key technologies of Linux, Windows, vmware, storage (file,object,block), Tanzu/PCF and Kubernetes
• Have experience building infrastructure designs for GPU backed AI/ML workloads
• Have a strong understanding of networks and datacenter infrastructure
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to help create exceptional documentation
• Have the ability to think at the product and service level and understand what our customers need
• Be passionate about collaboration and pulling together SMEs from various domains to help create holistic standards and patterns
• Be skilled at explaining technical problems succinctly and clearly
