About the Role:
Mastercard Identity Check is the company's largest cardholder authentication solution, processing billions of 3DS authentications annually for issuers and merchants worldwide. As a Senior Data Analyst on the Identity Check product team, you will be the analytical backbone behind how we measure, optimize, and commercially position this product.
You will work at the intersection of product performance, commercial strategy, and regulatory compliance — translating transaction-level data into insights that directly shape product performance, pricing models, and the product roadmap.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic & Regulatory Analysis
- Support market sizing, go-to-market execution, performance monitoring and product optimization for existing and new capabilities (e.g., FIDO2 Web Authn passkey-based authentication, Data Sharing flows / Risk Based Authentication).
- Analyze the impact of regulatory changes (e.g. PSD2, PSD3/PSR enforcement, exemption usage rates) on product performance, transaction volumes and product adoption.
- Pricing & Commercial Analytics
- Support the development and refinement of Authentication and Behavioral pricing models and develop dashboards/insights
- Analyze transaction volume trends, attach rates, and revenue per transaction across segments and geographies to identify pricing and revenue trends
- Model the commercial impact of product and fee structure changes on Mastercard revenue.
- Product Performance Analytics
- Own the end-to-end measurement framework for Identity Check, covering authentication success rates, challenge success rates, frictionless vs. challenge flows, fallback and error rates, exemption usage, fraud performance etc.
- Build and maintain pricing and product performance dashboards and reporting that give product managers, market / account teams, and leadership a clear view of product performance and customer enablement/opportunities
- Identify and quantify performance bottlenecks and work with product, customer success, project management and account teams to resolve them.
What You Bring:
Required
- Experience in data analytics, preferably in payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Python & SQL skills (complex queries across large-scale transaction datasets — billions of rows).
- Proficiency in at least one analytics/visualization tool stack (e.g., Python/R + Tableau/Power BI).
- Experience building pricing models or commercial analytics
- Comfort working with stakeholders across product, engineering and commercial functions.
- Strong communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with card payment authentication (specifically EMV 3DS protocol or FIDO2 Web Authn/Secure Payment Confirmation).
- Familiarity with PSD2/SCA regulatory framework and how transaction risk analysis exemptions affect authentication flows.
Corporate Security Responsibility
All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
