Title and Summary
Senior Software Engineer:
The Program Modernization team at Master Card drives transformation and champions modernization across technology, risk, and service operations. We establish the foundation for scalable programs, resilient systems and control governance that empowers transformation.
The mission of the Technology Modernization team is to enable all the Mastercard programs across the organization to thrive in an evolving regulatory environment by fostering a culture of strong technology controls and effective execution. The team designs and delivers innovative, data-driven solutions that fulfill assurance obligations and regulatory requirements by proactively identifying risks, build real-time tools that leverage technology to continuously test and monitor the control environment. These capabilities enables audit-ready compliance portal for inventorying, managing, testing, and evidencing technology controls.
Role overview
The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically while executing tactically. This role requires ensuring ongoing compliance with security and technology control standards; as well as alignment with industry best practices. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple programs, building scalable solutions, and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with Master Card standards, processes and best practices and with a high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of technology control driven solutions.
Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate to Master Card’s specifications.
Participate in requirements analysis to ensure solutions are being implemented adhering to Master Card standards, processes and best practices.
Accountability for full systems development life cycle including creating high quality requirements documents, use-cases, design and other technical artifacts including but not limited to detailed test strategy/test design, performance benchmarking, release rollout and deployment plans, contingency/back-out plans.
Participate in Po Cs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks.
Conduct brownbag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and application appropriate frameworks and provide technical training to the other team members.
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
5 to 8 years of experience in related field in delivering secure solutions in Financial Services Sector is preferred
Broad understanding of Internet Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required.
Experience building RESTful Web APIs using ASP.NET Core.
Knowledge in frontend development using j Query, Typescript, Angular.js or similar; creating dashboards and responsive webpages
Good understanding of cross browser development and testing
Ability to use Git, Bitbucket, GitHub or similar source control system
Working knowledge in CRUD operations using various database types (Oracle, Postgres)
Demonstrates technical competency in ETL operations between various data sources
Knowledgeable in Algorithm and Data structures:
Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment.
Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong relationship, collaborative skills and organizational skills.
Ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
Desired Skills:
Advance experience building API based solutions (REST APIs, APIGW, Security Access Manager)
Good understanding in DevOps, Cloud and CI/CD strategic importance (e.g., global initiatives, cross functional/cross geographies).
Demonstrates experience with PCF infrastructure supporting applications hosted in this environment.
Preferably has good understanding of directory services such as Active Directory and/or LDAP
